"Let's Dance" (2024)
Da Beer Man is starting this sweet page with a tune I personally danced to at The Banyan Live right near the airport in WPB. Slo called me and dared me to catch a flight in for the night and check the show. Why not? I even took this pic and recorded the audio on my phone (…that’s why it’s raw lol…) ! Slo introduced “Let’s Dance” as his “first” ever favorite tune. The band really sounds like a sweet goo here: all sticky in the good way and Slo’s outro solo is a nice shot in the arm to a classic Bowie song!
"Blaze of Glory" (2023)
We’re pretty sure this one was banned due to the focused, energetic, and wholly inappropriate fake jerk performed by Slo. However, banning such fake jerks as a ‘sexual act’ misses the point. Here, Slo is actually using the fake jerk as a metaphor for what music does to inspire him and turn him on. He’s not fake whacking it to Bon Jovi or Beck. He’s fake whacking to the power of rock and pop music to literally move humanity in massive heapz toward sonic ecstasy.
Slo was very disappointed when he got the notification that this was not going to go viral all over socials, but was in fact bot-banned. He had a whole slew of follow-ups! Aerosmith’s orchestral performance of “Dream On” circa ’91, Pearl Jam’s Unplugged concert circa ’92, and Tom Petty’s “Won’t Back Down” performance at the 911 Tribute to America concert circa ’01 – just to name a few. It’s kind of sad that in the modern world a man can’t have a public fake jerk tribute moment, you know.
"Day Tripper" (2005)
At some point circa ’05, Slo made the acquaintance of a dood called Sean. This is way before the current roster lineup in SloFunkPump. Sean’s mommy had a studio where she recorded spa-type music — you know, the kind with no words and it makes you feel good as you get caressed up and down your bod, except for the naughties. Anyhoo, for a day, Slo and his “band” — which was basically Sean on drumz and Slo’s friend, Jeff – jammed a bunch of stuff and this was actually a gem.
"Bounce" Sessions 1 (2025)
Slo met up with the band’s new manager CK in North Carolina to get into the studio with Reece da Beast. Reece is an expert sound man and has produced everything Slo has recorded since 2016.
I — da Beer Man! – was actually invited to tag along but had previous engagements closing down the summer on the lakes of Pennsylvania. Anyhoo, this will be Slo’s first full-length effort at 10 songs. The sessions were spectacular. After a Friday on the town, CK and Slo burrowed down on Saturday with gourmet tacos and weed, hammering out the arrangements, then lit it up on Sunday in the studio!
